Remote support

We are maintaining regular phone contact with around 160 people already known to our services and are beginning to develop news ways of reaching out and keeping life social.

Please ensure that we have your most up to date contact details!

We are taking new referrals for this service too, for people living in Wandsworth or other South West London boroughs

Our calls offer

  • Advice about the virus to ensure you understand the action you and any people in your household should take in the event of infection, particularly if you are in an 'at risk' group.
  • Updates on the status of Sound Minds and Canerows services and new online services as we develop them
  • Helping you to cope with isolation and the absences of the community services that used to offer face to face support
  • Ensuring that you have sufficient food and resources in isolation and organising help if you don't
  • Bringing you up to date on other services you may use and may access such as foodbanks, advice, online help etc.
  • Supporting you in the style that suits you and agreeing the frequency of contacts

We will also make use of bulk texting to offer key advice or news and bulk emails.

Mental Health under Lockdown

Our colleagues at the National User Survivor Network (NSUN)  have compiled this fantastic list of resources and ways we can all support our mental health, along with much other useful information

Wandsworth Food Banks

Wandsworth Foodbanks are no longer allowing visitors and are operating a delivery service. Sound Minds can refer you, but please note there is great pressure of demand, so please only request if you have tried all other options.

Registering as an Extremely Vulnerable Person

If you have medical reasons for isolating you can register yourself through the governments site.  We have been informed (though this is unconfirmed) that supermarkets use registration to determine if you are a priority for online ordering. You will need your NHS number.
